Big news for Transporter owners and van converters. According to a report from carsales published on 31/10/2026, Volkswagen plans to move the next generation Transporter away from the Ford based platform it uses today and back onto a platform of its own. Carsales describes it as one of the biggest changes in the Transporter’s 75 year history. Here is what the report says, and what it means for the windows you can buy for your Transporter today.
If you own a T7 Transporter, or are planning a conversion, nothing changes for years. Because the T7 shares its body with the Ford Transit Custom, the same bonded windows fit both vans, and they will stay relevant for as long as the T7 is on the road.
When the new Volkswagen built Transporter does arrive, it will be a new body, and that means new glass. We will be watching closely and plan to bring windows for it to Emprise Global as early as we can.
These windows suit the VW Transporter T7 (NSN) 2025 on and the Ford Transit Custom AV 2024 on. All prices include GST, with free delivery Australia wide.
Bonded windows give a clean, factory style finish, and the glass in glass sliders let fresh air in while the integrated flyscreen keeps insects out.

We recommend having your windows fitted by an experienced auto glass fitter or van converter. You can find one near you on our installer map.
